Mercedes-Benz C300 4MATIC Gets Thrilling Upgrade

Mercedes-Benz fans know that when it comes to performance, the brand is restless. The most recent target of their perfectionist tendencies is the venerable Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

As you might very well know, the C-Class is currently composed of six models:  the C250 Sport Sedan, C250 Luxury Sedan, C300 4MATIC Sport Sedan, C300 4MATIC Luxury Sedan, C350 Sport Sedan, and C63 AMG Sedan.

Excluding the C63 AMG, the C-Class can essentially be broken into three levels of performance. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C250 Luxury and Sport Sedans, for example, boast 201 horsepower. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C300 4MATIC Luxury and Sport Sedan sit in the middle with 228 horsepower. And the top-of-the-line 2012 Mercedes-Benz C350 Sport Sedan offers over 300 heart-racing ponies of power.

….At least that's the current status quo.

Mercedes-Benz is shaking things up some for the 2013 model year. Specifically, reports suggest that the C350 engine will be used in the C300 4MATIC. This coupled with the fact that it comes with legendary Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC AWD gives drivers wanting a higher-level C-Class model exactly the excuse they've been looking for.

What will happen to the C350??

Details are still a little vague. But, from the looks of it, Mercedes-Benz has far more than just one exciting update planned for the imminent 2013 model year.
