Mercedes-Benz Model Deemed 'Best in Show' at Pebble Beach

If you are anything like us here at Mercedes-Benz of Santa Rosa then you probably get excited about the latest new Mercedes-Benz getting ready to roll off the production line. In order to fully appreciate these new model we must take a step back and solute those model that are not with us today.

We are not the only ones that feel this way about the cars. During the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance the brand was honored with the "Best in Show" award for one of their models.

Which model is that? You may ask. That was the Mercedes-Benz Saoutchik S. It was created off of a 1928 Mercedes-Benz 680S body by Frenchman Jacques Saoutchik. The car is gray with maroon trim.

In addition to proving that Mercedes-Benz models are recognized for their style and sophistication throughout the ages, the 680S model's award prompted an intriguing look into the brand's past. During its time, the Mercedes-Benz S Type model was exclusive in nature and touted for its ability to provide outstanding sports-car performance while also offering more conventional on-road drive.
